NUSP Edgar Jopson Educational Discussion Festival
The National Union of Students of the Philippines (NUSP) is a nation-wide alliance of student councils/governments/unions committed to the advancement of the students’ democratic rights and welfare. Since its establishment in 1957, NUSP has been consistently at the forefront of the students’ struggle for their rights and welfare and in solidarity with the Filipino people’s struggle for genuine freedom and democracy.
As such, NUSP has earned the recognition of being the legitimate student center here and abroad. As part of building sensient, just and socially-responsible student leaders, NUSP has an education program known as Edgar Jopson Education and Training Center comprised of various discussions on skills training and social issues following the example of the young martyr and former NUSP National President, Edgar Jopson. Expected outputs of this activity are trained student leaders responsive to the twists and turns of the objective situations inside and outside the campus. This will be able to teach them to be more critical and analytical.
In line with this, we are inviting your organization / institution and individuals to the first of NUSP’s series of educational and political discussions. This July 3-4, 2015, Saturday and Sunday, from 9am to 5pm at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines, Sta. Mesa, Manila, we are inviting you to an in-depth educational discussion on the political, economic and cultural history of the Philippines and student movement.
A humble registration fee of fifty pesos (P50) per individual will be used to cover for snacks, certificates and other logistical concerns. We have reserved five slots (5) for your organization / institution. Please inform us should you wish to add more slots for your delegates. The Sentral na Konseho ng mga Mag-aaral (Central Student Council) of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) Main is our host student council for this education festival.
