Invitation: 1st Student Trustees and Regents National Congress

Dear Fellow Student Leaders:
Warmest greetings of solidarity!
The Offices of the Student Regent (OSR) of the Philippine Normal University (PNU), the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP), the University of the Philippines (UP) and the Bicol University (BU) together with the National Union of Students of the Philippines (NUSP), the country’s biggest and most comprehensive alliance of student councils nation-wide, realizing the need for a broader network and greater unities with student leaders across the country, seeks to form a strong alliance of all student regents/trustees. The alliance shall provide an avenue for effective information dissemination, and shall empower student representatives in fulfillment of their duty to the students and country.
In order to realize this vision, we would like to invite you to the 1st Student Trustees and Regents National Congress on August 24-28, 2011 in Legazpi City, Albay, with the theme: “MAGKAISA AT MANINDIGAN: para sa makabuluhang representasyon, karapatan ng mga estudyante, at paglilingkod sa sambayanan”
The congress aims to have the following:
1. Establishment of a national federation of Student Trustees and Regents
2. Discussion on significant socio-political issues
3. Training and workshop in basic and technical skills for effective student leadership
The Congress shall be an avenue through which student leaders all over the country can get to interact with each other, and build resolutions committed to contributing to genuine social change. In this light, we cordially invite your office/council/government/organization to take part in this historic event. Each school may send as many delegates as possible. Attached herewith is a copy of the program for your perusal. Registration fee is pegged at Php 3,000 to cover food, accommodation, training kits and souvenirs.

We’re tragetting the Mindano congress for STaRFed around Jan or Feb next year. Before that however is our NUSP 38th national congress in Davao from Dec 8-12.
