NUSP leads national day of action for free education, denounces free tuition scam

The National Union of Students in the Philippines (NUSP) with different progressive student organizations led the National Day of Action for Free Education and held a picket protest in front of Commission on Higher Education (CHED) main office. Months after its pronouncements of finally providing free public tertiary education, the Duterte administration, through CHED and DBM, released the guidelines for the grant of free tuition. PASUC calls for greater state subsidy; joins July 19 day of action

The Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC) has declared its support for the campaign for greater state subsidy for state universities and colleges (SUCs). PASUC has resolved to join the nationwide action on July 19, calling on everyone to wear white and participate in mass actions across the country. The partial and initial list of signatories include Dr. Ricardo Rotoras, PASUC President; Serafin Ngohayon, PASUC Auditor; Dr. Olympio Caparas, TUP President and VP for NCR; Dr. Miriam Pascua, VP for Luzon.
